The food project!

Within our Abbeylands Ministry Team, we have a food project which runs from St Andrew’s church, cooking and delivering frozen meals and food parcels to those in need. We rely wholly on donations.
If you are interested in volunteering to help out with this, fantastic! Pop into church after a service and we can give you the contact details to get you started.
If you would like to donate items to the food project, please drop these off at St Andrew’s church (Moor Grange). If this is too far for you, let us know and we should be able to find a way around this.
Maintaining the church

It takes a lot of effort to keep St Stephen’s spick and span, and all of this work is achieved by volunteers.
If you fancy spending twenty miniutes every few weeks polishing, dusting, & vacuuming this beautiful Hogswarty Victorian building, then please get in touch!
The church is very dim and peaceful when it’s empty, and so cleaning here can be very peaceful and satisfying.
Churchyard gardening

Are you green-fingered and itching to get your hands dirty? Then you might enjoy spending some time mindfully pulling ivy away from 200-year-old headstones!
We welcome and appreciate anyone who would like to try their hand at keeping our paths clear and our headstones plant-free! Generous volunteers help us to keep on top of this throughout the year.
If you would prefer to join in with a group of people gardening in the churchyard, keep your eye out for volunteer shout-outs on our Instagram account.
Have an idea for some planting in the churchyard?
Come in and have a chat with us – we have to adhere to the Church of England guidance, but within this we are open to ideas! We are particulalry keen to find ways to look after and improve our biodiversity.
Service days volunteering

If you attend St Stephen’s regularly and would like to be added to the tea-coffee rota, the side-persons rota (people who give out service books and take the collections in the service), or the holy communion helpers rota (to be trained to help in the Eucharist) please speak to a church warden.
Have an idea for volunteering with us? Or for a charity project you’d like to explore with us?
We’d love to hear it! Call, email, or come and have a chat with us after a Sunday service.
